My Cast and Learning & Doing New Things

I got a new cast yesterday. It's green for Saint Patrick's Day. The reason I got a new cast is because I got water on my old cast which apparently I'm not supposed to do. And I have to wear a cone thingy so I don't bite and lick my cast. I have these really bad sores under my cast, so I need to be careful. The cone thingy will keep me from accidentally chewing on my cast. Well, at least I can move my toes again. (Booyah!) The nice vet techs gave me warm water therapy and bent my toes around until my doctor came in yesterday to look at my leg. The doctor says that my toes are getting better and may be normal again.

Yesterday was my first time officially out of the kitchen. I have a nice downstairs. And there's this nice, soft, red blanket which I love! It is wonderful! It is Aidan's blanket, but he let me use it. And I learned that if I go pee outside, I get a doggie treat! (Booyah!) I also like my human family. Okay, so I bit Aidan, ( my human brother,) on my first day here, but he got me real excited, and I couldn't help it.

Yesterday, My human Aunt Patty came and stayed the night and took a thousand pictures of me. She seems nice enough. She is my human dad's sister. She went to church with us this morning. Mom had to stay home because Joey was sick. I hope he gets better soon. Mom gets real upset when he's sick, because its hard to tell how sick he really is. He doesn't talk and generally doesn't complain even when he is sick. He can't tell Mom what hurts and that's what really frightens her.

Dad told me that at church it was "Amazing Grace Sunday." There is a new movie coming out about William Wilberforce who was responsible for ending the slave trade in England 200 years ago. The movie is called Amazing Grace. Wilberforce was friends with John Newton who was a former slave trader and wrote the song Amazing Grace. I put a link to the website about the movie with the rest of my links. Maybe you'd like to watch the trailer and go see the movie. Dad's gonna take the kids to see it and tell me all about it. He tells me that slavery is a terrible thing and even today there are people who are slaves. I think that's terrible. The movie will help people realize that even today they can make a difference and help to end slavery now and do other good things to make this world a better place.

I gotta' go. So, "Arf, arf!" In human speak, That's, "Bye-bye!"

Hi Rocky and welcome to the family!! My name is Bentley and I guess we are related since my human mom is an "aunt" to your human dad - what does that make us? Anyway, if you need some advice about getting to sleep in bed with one of your humans, let me know. About potty time outside,. my best advice is to HURRY, HURRY, HURRY!!! Tell your humans to call my human mom sometime! - she would love to hear from you.
